This three hour training meets the pre-service requirement to be licensed as a Family Care Provider.

The 3 hour training will 9:15am to 12:15pm, Tuesday November 11, 2008 MetroWest Boys & Girls Club, 169 Pleasant St., Marlboro
Registration is $15 and is required. If there isn't enough registration, the training will be cancelled. To register use the child care orientation registration form
This five-hour training meets the pre-service requirement to become approved as a Large Family Child Care Provider OR a Certified Large Family Child Care Assistant
There are other requirements for licensing, see Massachusett's Department of Early Education and Care licensing requirements
In this training, participants will learn about:
Written material regarding the regulations will be distributed. However Large Family Child Care (LFCC) regulations and licensing requirements will not be covered at this introductory training. Licensors will not be present to answer specific questions. Please contact your licensor for further information as needed.
The training will be SATURDAY, October 4, 9-2:30At the Child Care Search office (37 Knox Trail, Acton, MA)
There will be a half hour break, please bring your own lunch

Core Competency: Guiding and interacting with children
Young children are often most comfortable when information is presented to them visually. When children can see what is expected of them, they can show their understanding by demonstrating more appropriate behaviors.

You may take children out regularly to free play but what about those children who have been (or might be) identified as having sensory challenges? Would you like to learn how to use what you have to help give therapeutic sensory input to those children who could use it the most? Come to this workshop to learn how to think like an Occupational Therapist, with a brief overview of the sensory processing theory. Then we'll go out to the playground for a hands-on learning opportunity!
